All materials used are created and licensed for use by The Protocol School of Washington ®, the nations leader in etiquette and protocol services. Midwest Protocol customizes all programs depending upon the needs of the client and ages of the children. These programs are offered in a variety of different ways, including but not limited to brief presentations, day long programs, and extended workshops. Past clients have included private and parochial school after-school enrichment programs, high school presentations, preschool programs, many Brownie/Girl/Boy Scout programs, and customized dining programs. Modern Manners For Children
Modern Manners for Children is an activity-oriented approach to teaching etiquette to children ages 4 to 7. The program is designed to foster children’s growth through effective, age appropriate, play-nourished, self-esteem building exercises.

Early etiquette awareness offers many advantages to preparing children for their teen and adult years. Family involvement is encouraged through take-home handouts that reinforce and develop positive attitudes toward learning and applying good manners.

Catherine the Mannerly Cat is featured throughout the program.

The Etiquette Programs
The return to traditional values has brought about an increased appreciation of good manners and good manners need not be a conscious effort. They must be practiced so that they become automatic. A child who learns proper social skills early in life will have the appropriate tools they need to last a lifetime, no matter what situation may arise. These fun and informative programs include role playing exercises, instructive materials, and workbooks and or handouts for each student to use and keep as a reference guide. Some of the topics featured include:

  • Self Esteem and Confidence Building
  • Meetings and Introductions
  • Developing Confidence in Meeting New Acquaintances
  • Handshaking with All Ages
  • Conversation and Listening Skills
  • Telephone Etiquette
  • The Etiquette of Public Places
  • Employment and You (Teens and Young Adults)

The Dining Programs

Students learn to feel comfortable and self-assured in social situations. These fun and informative programs include role playing exercises, slides, instructive materials, and a workbook/handouts for each student to use and keep as a reference guide.
